Mary Love joined Asheville Keller Williams in the fall of 2011. She saw her position as the Director for the new Green Division as an opportunity to increase sells and promote “Green” on a national level. Consumers are demanding energy and water efficiency and healthy indoor air quality along with more environmentally friendly products. Ms. Love is leading a program that educates and encourages all homeowners to become more sustainable. Important improvements can be done by sellers and it is critical that these are marketed accordingly. Buyers can also make improvements once they are in their new home.
Mary started her Real Estate career in 2004. She realized that Realtors were often the main resource for homeowners. She combined her sustainability consultation skills with market knowledge and quickly became the go to Realtor in the Asheville NC market. Nov. 2008 Mary became one first Realtors to receive the National Association Of Realtors® GREEN Designation. She is now an instructor for this course. Ms. Love is the current President of Asheville Board of Realtors, ECO agent program. She has been instrumental in helping the local MLS add green features into the search criteria. Since then she has been working with buyers, sellers, builders, investors, businesses and non-profit agency about the value of living and working in green sustainable buildings.
Mary Love has been teaching about the environment for over 25 years. She has worked with government and non-profit agencies in TN, CA, and NC. She worked as a project manager with the WNC Green Building Council and was instrumental in establishing the NC Healthy Built Homes Program. While working with the GBC, Mary helped to create the Asheville Board of Realtors, Environmental Consultant designation (ECO). She has helped Advance Energy, NC Solar Center and AB Technology Community College creates classes pertaining to Real Estate and various “Green” programs.
Mary moved to Asheville, NC in 2003. As a former big city dweller who grew up in a Tennessee town of 200 residents, Mary finds the best of both worlds in Asheville. She lives with her partner in an investment property, a duplex she selected both for its rental potential and its great mountain views. Mary holds a master’s degree in environmental science and supervisor administration.
Ms. Love works with a diverse clientele of buyers, sellers, investors, and developers. Leveraging more than two decades of experience as an environmental specialist, Mary helps builders plan and build environmentally conscious developments and infield projects, markets eco communities, and works with environmentally savvy individuals to find the right homes for their needs. “I love what I do. I enjoy helping clients find a home that meets their unique needs,” says Mary, “and my work with Keller Williams Green Division enables me to share the benefits of sustainable building with my clients.”
Mary also works with a wide range of investors, seeking to rehab and turn properties, build rental income, or purchase second homes. Her current projects with investors involve making the houses more energy efficient in order to gain appeal for renters and buyers.
Mary’s quest for education and continual improvement lead her to be one of the first Realtors in NC to achieve the NC Workforce Housing Specialist certification. This program allows her to stay on top of the most recent programs available for first time home owners.
